How it works

From contract to the first data in days, not months

No construction, no new sensor. Onboarding uses what the store already has: cameras, DVR and the floor plan.

The path of the data

  1. Recorded videoThe store exports clips from its DVR or NVR. No new camera, no sensor, no construction work.
  2. Detection and trackingPeople become per-camera tracks, classified as customer, employee or unknown. No face, no identity.
  3. Projection onto the floor planEach camera is calibrated and positions move from pixels to metres, in the store coordinate system.
  4. Zones and eventsProduce, bakery, checkouts: departments become zones, and passages become events with a time window.
  5. Analytics and Digital TwinAggregates by hour, day and department feed dashboards, replay and the 3D twin of the store.

What the store needs to have

  • CCTV cameras already installed, assessed in the site survey for resolution, frame rate and placement.
  • A DVR or NVR with usable video export, tested before the schedule is set.
  • The store floor plan as CAD, PDF or photo, with two or three real measurements checked on site.
  • Privacy signage installed and the employee notice delivered, with templates provided by Afluxion.

Onboarding, step by step

  1. Contract and data processing agreementNothing is processed before both are signed.
  2. Site surveyCamera inventory, export test, choice of critical cameras and formal exclusion of restricted areas.
  3. Digitised floor planThe plan becomes the store coordinate system, in metres.
  4. RegistrationStore, opening hours, cameras with mandatory masks and zones in the standard supermarket taxonomy.
  5. Per-camera calibrationEach camera is calibrated against the plan, with error within tolerance before saving.
  6. Clock synchronisationThe clock offset of each camera is measured and corrected.
  7. In-store noticePoster and employee notice installed by the retailer, with a record.
  8. Validation videoOne or two representative hours, with a parallel manual count for acceptance.
  9. TrainingExecutive, manager and administrator, each with their own use.
  10. Go-liveSigned checklist and start of follow-up.

Deployment target: up to five business days per store, to be validated in the pilot.
